Extinguishers and Hose Reels

Without question fire extinguishers save lives, property and business almost daily (FETA study) The question is not should I have fire extinguishers, the question is what type of fire extinguishers do I need and where should they be located? CFS Ltd provide the full and complete range of fire extinguishers and trolley units on the market today, just for your FREE survey and quotation.

Water, Water Plus, Foam Spray, Wet Chemical, ABC Powder, Co2, Hose Reels are sometimes requested by insurers or can be a requirement of a fire certificate. CFS Ltd can supply install and service manual, automatic, swinging, recessed and pedestal hose reels.

NOTE: where hose reels exist or are required it should be known to all employees that fire doors are rendered totally ineffective if a hose reel hose is dragged through a fire door.

Because of this and the fact that the unlimited water supply could give rise to significant water damage or give a person false confidence to tackle a fire beyond its initial developing stage CFS Ltd do not recommend hose reels be installed unless it is a requirement of your insurer the fire authorities or as a result of your fire risk assessment.

Suppression and Extinguishing Systems

These types of systems are installed to cover high value assets or high fire risk areas, such as Plant, Machinery, Vital Data, Chemical Processing or Museum Artifacts These systems can knock down a fire in just 8 to 10 seconds.

If your requirement is to cover the type of risk described above or similar CFS Ltd can advise on the type of system for the risk and design, install and maintain the system for you.

Where gaseous systems are already installed CFS Ltd can perform the service and the mandatory room integrity testing required in BS ISO 14520. Room integrity testing should be carried out annually or whenever structural alterations are carried out within or around the protected area.
